Splendid occasion. Lovely course. Good company.
Super-duper soup a la pomme de terre + rolls. Thanks to chef Alexandre and waitress Gabi.
All went like clockwork except that my particular spring refused to be wound up. Sad, very sad - but tottering round the course twice was, except for a short cold shower, most enjoyable.
Eric appeared to do nothing but stroll the course and chew fat but the smooth running was all down to forward planning and hard work done by Eric and the IAC gang. Well done all.

Great day was had by all The weather wasn`t too bad. Huge thanks to all who came and enjoyed the shoot. Lovely to hear feedback from the archers on how great the animals were put out and how tricky some shots were. Everyone scored very well . Happy faces all around. We love putting on shoots that people find interesting going around the woods and wondering what`s next.

A BIG THANK YOU to all in Aosa Dana for a brilliant weekend of Archery.
We have to say you challenged use all to the max last weekend and it was definitely a roller coaster journey through each event.
We decided that we all need more practice especially on the 2 arrow rounds.
Some of the best shot placements we have seen at a shoot in recent times with plenty of tricks to throw us all off.
With all its tricks and challenges we made it to the end with smiles on our faces and all gathered for a cuppa and a chat about our near misses and the if only we hit that one????, but the one thing that we all agreed on was the amount of work that went into putting this shoot together.
Emotions were running high at the end of the shoot as we heard of the passing of 2 members of Aosa Dana over the past year, and yes it did bring a tear to many faces in the crowd.
The weather played ball and gave us some beautiful sunshine at times and even the light shower we had on Saturday was a welcome break from the heat of the day.
A well run and easy going shoot with all the members of the club buzzing around in the background doing their part to keep the shoot running smoothly.
Well done Liam and your right hand woman Debbie! A GREAT JOB INDEED.
It was obvious that Aosa Dana is a family of Archers that pulled together to give us a weekend to remember for a long time to come.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and wish you all the best and please do have a rest you all deserve it!!!!

A Great Day Out and About.
Many thanks to all the people who turned up to shoot with us on Sunday.
It was great to see you all and hope you enjoyed the shoot.
We had great fun putting it out and by the sounds of it you all seemed to enjoy the challenge.
Walking the course it was funny to see even seasoned archers creeping around between the targets looking for the hidden bonus 3Ds as though if they made a sound and the target would run away!!!!!
We even came across a few groups planning to shoot an old piece of carpet thinking it might be one of the hidden ones.
Its amazing how the mind can play tricks on you after an hour of shooting in the forest.
The weather was perfect and the craic was mighty - a great day out and about indeed.
Thank you all for supporting us and we shall see you all again soon, at the next shoot.

Loughcrew Challenge, June 16th 2019
Thought I'd go for something new. As in all archery competitions shooting accurately is the name of the game. Get the target, get the points. This time even more accuracy was needed. The two targets were close, usually one partly hiding the other. This setup was accompanied by perplexing rules featuring bonuses and penalties making the whole
shoot a unique and fun nightmare. All competitors, after an understandably confusing start, went for maximum points, with the resulting triumph or disaster.
Thanks to all who came along.

What an absolute fabulous day we had. Lovely people enjoying the day . Kids smiling from ear to ear hunting for Eggs and Bunnies along the track. The course was a little tricky but everyone got on really well. I went out myself in the second round (first time I shot my own course) really loved it. We want to Thank All who came out on a Easter Sunday and spent the day with us ,it was a pleasure having you .

Miracles Do Happen!!!
A big thank you to all the Brave Archers who turned up to shoot with us on Sunday.
Looking at the weather forecast on Saturday night it looked like a complete white out and we were worried about snow drifts and all.
After a quick lie down, a cup of tea and two phone calls later we decided we would go ahead anyway and Thank God we did.
A great day was had by all even though we had the odd snow shower the atmosphere was great and the soup that Alex Made was to die for.
A big THANK YOU! to Alex.
We decided to put out the expert pegs for the Archers who requested a challenge at the last meeting. This was a yellow peg behind the last peg at a more challenging position.
Well within the first 5 minutes of the shoot starting our (Expert Archers) were spitting their tummies out all over the course.
Well what would a challenge be without an actual challenge????
Only one determined and brave Archer managed to finish the whole course shooting from the expert peg so I take my hat off to you David Mc Dermott from Aos Dana, you are the man! well done to you sir.
Thank you all for your support on Sunday and we hope to see you all again at the next shoot.
The IAC Gang.
P.s. We have found a number of dummies on the course so if you would like yours back please contact the club with the colour and size and we will post them back to you ASAP
Aos Dana, Woodsman Round, Feb 17th 2019
The morning started with air of the unknown through the number of calls and messages of whats to be expected in an woodsman round.
Well the curiosity must have won as we had calls from IAC ,limerick and 3 counties to say there on the way. Also on arrival the sunny southeast shine bright with a new practice area and starting times on schedule.
As archers set off eagerly with words of 3 arrow walk up and shoot to kill and with a game plan set, time would tell and bang on archers arrived back on two hour mark and all had a tale to tell.
Round two had similiar treats with some scores up and some not but generally all in good form. As all returned and what next only are usual raffle as everyone eager to get hands on prizes galore, from big cuddly bear or 3d owl.
Medals were truly earned and recieved with great applause .
Thanks again to all who attended and to my fellow club members, a great team effort, as saying goes "no i in team".

Well done to all who had the pleasure of competing and organising the champs in Carrowmore last weekend.
This will be remembered for a long time to come as the best champs ever. We had a ball thanks to the all the hard work from Marble Archers and Carrowmore Archers over the weekend. A great team effort indeed.
So much to do on the first day our heads were spinning and our hearts racing with excitement.
3 events on the first day seemed impossible but you managed to pull it off and kept us smiling and laughing as the atmosphere and the craig got better and better.
Later in the day we were treated to a masterclass in clout shooting by no other than Don P who put our me-gar efforts at the far far away target to shame. This was the best laugh ever as you could see the frustration of the archers as they tried in vain to get some points on the board and the delight as they finally got the hang of it coming to the end of the
shoot. (WE NEED MORE PRACTICE!) so someone please lets do another one soon.
We arrived early on Sunday morning knowing we still had the dreaded PEN-DULL-UMMMMMMMMM still to come.
It was funny to see so many people outside the tunnel going through their game plan and mental visualisation tactics which disappeared into thin air when we were handed a bow and the countdown began.
Hearts racing at 100 miles an hour and a target moving just as fast we still managed to get a few points on the board.
Best fun ever!!!!!!
Stumbling out of the tunnel full of excitement we took a break to calm down and we were off again to shoot the shorter pegs on the lake side course.
Plenty of tricky shot positions and some challenging shots kept us on our toes and we rolled in at 1.30 feeling a little bit sad it was finished but on top of the world that we were treated to one of the best champs ever.
Well done to all and thank you.
The IAC Gang.
It seems to me that there has been a change of attitude to the idea of staging a championship. The last time, when Carrowmore ran the champs, there were nay-sayers who thought that a CHAMPIONSHIP had to be a sort of 100% standard type shoots affair, where they were on familiar territory and that the unexpected "nonsense" they were faced with made a mockery of what a championship should be.
Well, guess what, 2018 turned out to be the same old same old, and familiarity with this "Carrowmore format" has bred a much more contented attitude. It was, in fact, was a mixture of 2 SBGs (familiar), a round of tiny targets (less familiar), and two events which exercised archery skills which very few competitors had any opportunity to practice
Perhaps the next championship, wherever that will be, will include some new unusual way for archers to try their skill.
Well done David, with Marble Archers, who staged a memorable event of which they can be justly proud

It's always with anticipation that one attends an inaugural shoot.
What's it going to be like? How's the course? Hows the organisation?
Running their shoot on a Saturday, being also the date when keen types
are away at EBHC in Germany, made for a small turnout.
But this is what Marble wanted - not to be overwhelmed with competitors
on their big day so that they can iron out any wrinkles, if any, and
feel confident for their next BIG EVENT.
Actually, there were no wrinkles, hiccups or disasters and the event
turned out to be a most enjoyable day out, with a friendly reception,
loads of food and drink, fine sunny weather and an interesting course.
Marble members must have sweated blood in the effort to get this brand
new course ready and it showed in the attention to detail, even down to
giving each target not just a number but an appropriate name - like
"Really Hard", "Impossible" and "OMG".
Looking forward to their next shoot!

A big thank you.
A great day out on Sunday with some fantastic weather to boot.
Thank god the sun came to visit us at IAC last Sunday.(Much Better than the snow at the last one)
The day went well with archers arriving from around the country to come and shoot with us.
A very relaxed day with a tricky course to keep you guessing.
It was a great honor for our course setter's and the whole club to hear the positive comments even though the course was one of the toughest we have set in a long while many people shot well and enjoyed the challenge of it all.
Our next shoot we promise to give you all a much easier challenge.
We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all who turned up and we thank you for the support.
We hope you all enjoyed the shoot as much as we did putting it together and we hope to see you all in Rahin Forest at out next shoot in August.

A Great day out.
Many thanks to David and the gang at Carrowmore Archers for treating us all to a fantastic shoot on Sunday.
The weather was perfect and as usual the course was a great challenge to all of us that had the pleasure to shoot it.
A great welcome on arrival and a nice cup of coffee and we were all ready and itching to go on the course and see what was in store.
Hats off to the to the person that tweaked some of the shots and tricked us into thinking they were easy.
A few blanks later and we managed to get our heads in gear.
The atmosphere was great at lunch and it was good to catch up with everyone sharing our stories of near misses and the ones we hit with our eyes closed in hope!!!!
We are all itching to shoot the course again as soon as possible and if this shoot is anything to go by the Champs will be a weekend to remember.
Many thanks for a great day out.

The shoot that nearly was!!!!
Apologies to all the Archer’s hoping to come to the first IAC shoot of 2018.
We had no choise but to cancel due to the snow and ice.
All plans were in place to host this shoot with days of cutting our way through mountains of fallen trees with a brand new (handsaw) mad or what!
The lads laid out a splendid new course with plenty of challenges to keep you on your toes.
A sleepless night on Saturday praying for the snow to stop, but alas at 7.00am Sunday we realised it was all in vain and we were forced to pull the plug.
I have to say for the first time ever we were delighted that everyone decided to stay at home.
The roads at 7.30 were very bad taking us over an hour to travel the 20 minute journey to the forest.
But as you all know we are a bit mad in IAC so a group of us decided to go anyway and try to shoot the course.
We did 3 targets before our fingers fell off we were joined by Ghost the Husky who was loving playing in the snow in front of the target’s,
We took this as an omen and decided with much regret to start dismantling the course.
Many hours later after searching for our gear and targets in the snow we packed up the vehicles and headed in convoy to our base in Trim.
We had mighty crack with loads of laughs and so many memories of our winter wonderland that made up for not seeing you all on the day.
We missed you all and we hope to see you again soon at the next shoot.
We have taken some pictures for you all to see and we hope you enjoy them as much as we did taking them.
A weekend to remember for so many reasons.

A GREAT DAY OUT!!!!
Many thanks to all at Loughcrew for treating us to a great day out on Sunday.
A very cold start seen most of us slipping our way slowly to the shoot site, but we were great with a warm welcome ,a nice warm fire and a lovely cup of coffee.
The course was tweaked slightly since we last shot and it made it a great challenge to guess what was around the next corner.
Great shots as usual tested us all to the max, but very enjoyable when you hit the target.
All in all a great start to the new season.
The benchmark is set now all we have to do is try to keep up and do better if possible.
Well done to Willie, Richard and Trish a job well done.
